
Ayub Nabi Khan, Acting Vice-Chancellor of BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT), has been elected Chairman of the Society of Dyers and Colourists (SDC) Bangladesh.
A renowned textile engineer turned educator, Prof. Khan brings over 35 years of extensive experience in teaching, educational planning and management, consultancy, research, and technological innovation. His leadership roles across academic and industrial sectors have earned him a reputation for dedication and visionary guidance.
The official constitution of the SDC Bangladesh Region board saw the appointment of key members: Ayub Nabi Khan as Chairman, Dr. Mohammad Tajul Islam as Secretary, Afsana Ferdousi as Treasurer, and Md. Amanur Rahman as Chief Adviser.
Khan expressed his gratitude to the board members for their trust and support. He emphasised the importance of collaborative efforts to expand membership and foster a vibrant platform for knowledge-sharing aimed at advancing the textile and dyeing sectors.
The Society of Dyers and Colourists is a globally recognised professional body dedicated to the development of colour science and technology. With a rich heritage and international presence, SDC plays a vital role across industries such as textiles, leather, paper, and coatings by promoting innovation, education, and sustainable practices in dyeing, printing, and finishing.
As Chairman, Prof. Khan aims to strengthen SDC Bangladesh’s role in promoting sustainable colour technologies and elevating technical excellence within the industry.
