In the news lately for alleged anomalies, e-commerce platform Evaly runs risk of its assets being seized!
As per reports which cited sources, the Commerce Ministry is all set to ask the e-commerce entity to explain how it will meet its liabilities to customers and merchants and, failing to give satisfactory explanation to which, the ministry will file a case against it with the court either to appoint a liquidator to confiscate all of its assets or wind it up.
A meeting chaired by Commerce Secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh recently, reportedly, took this decision even as a letter will be sent to the e-commerce platform in this regard and it might be given 10 days’ time to respond to the same.
The meeting also, reportedly, underlined that if Evaly does not pay liabilities to any customer or merchant, they can as well file a case with the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection or the relevant court.
