At the recently held international RISE (Research, Innovation & Science for Engineered Fabrics) Conference in USA, the GEBECON® felting needle by leading industrial machine needles provider, Groz-Beckert, made it to the top 3 for the RISE Durable Product Award, along with Ultra Strand Coating System by ITW Dynatec and Fibrella Lite by Suominen. Suominen was awarded the prize for Fibrella Lite.
The GEBECON® felting needle for the production of nonwovens is said to showcase increased stability and high flexibility as compared to the conventional standard felting needles. It ensures a uniform fibre compaction, reduces the risk of needle breakage, and guarantees controlled draft even at extremely high production speeds during the needling process. The GEBECON® felting needle meets the requirements for a wide range of applications with coarse and fine gauges, with its intermediate-reduced working part. It can be used in the production of synthetic leather, the needling of high-tenacity fibres like aramid fibres with high elasticity modulus along with high-speed, and waste-fibre needling with optimized fibre transport.
