Eastman Garment Equipment (Ningbo), the Chinese division of the US-based leading cutting room solutions provider Eastman Machine Company, will conclude the celebrations of its 125th anniversary of serving the global apparel, textile and flexible materials industry with attendance at this year’s CISMA show. The American pioneer, who enjoys almost a monopoly in hand-held cutting devices, will be seen promoting its automated cutting systems, material handling equipment along with an already popular range of straight knives, round knives, drills, markers, end cutters and rotary shears.
The highlight equipment for this year’s showcase includes Raptor 75x Conveyorized multi-ply cutting system, equipped with a reciprocating straight knife cutter, capable of cutting up to 7.5 cm (3 inches) of compressed material. Exclusive tool head design of the cutter allows for a short and rigid reciprocating blade which ensures less deflection when cutting heavy-loads of stacked material goods – a recipe for accurately cut pattern pieces from top to bottom ply. All components of the tool head are modular, making it easily accessible for maintenance and replacement of internal components and consumable items. With a state-of-the-art motion control communication system, the cutter offers an industry-leading solution for medium to high ply cutting of flexible materials.
Beyond textiles for apparel manufacturing, the cutter is capable of handling industrial fabrics for marine, medical and agricultural applications. The variable frequency drive control provides consistent material compression while reducing power consumption. “The cutter’s frame is made of heavy-gauge welded steel, engineered to withstand challenging mass production environments. The frame design is modular and custom widths and length options are available,” informs Wade Stevenson, President, Eastman Machine Company.
ES-1800 Spreading machine, another highlight for the fair is an advanced, tension-free spreading machine applicable for all types of material, including denim. It features a super load capacity for rolls up to 180 kg in weight, and up to 72 cm in diameter. The material loading location is lower for better ergonomics and ease of labour. The ES-1800 is capable of one-way (face-up) and zigzag (face-to-face) spreading and is available in several widths. The machine has an auto edge alignment device and an automatic up and down control system. Two catchers are deployed for dual-way spreading with auto end cutting.
