The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Design in Bangladesh to jointly promote the country’s readymade garment sector at Design in Bangladesh Week 2026, scheduled for 30th–31st March next year.
Under the agreement, the two organisations will use the platform to highlight the achievements, innovation, sustainability initiatives and growing global leadership of Bangladesh’s apparel industry.
The MoU was signed at the BGMEA Complex on 14 December by M. Shajedul Karim, Chair of the BGMEA Standing Committee on Trade Fairs, and Rokaiya Ahmed Purna, Founder of Design in Bangladesh.
Design in Bangladesh Week 2026 is positioned as a flagship creative event celebrating the country’s strengths in fashion, design, sustainability, culture and innovation. The event is expected to bring together designers, creatives, exporters, investors and industry leaders, providing a single platform for collaboration, networking and knowledge exchange.
Organisers said the event will also aim to strengthen Bangladesh’s global image as a responsible and design-driven manufacturing hub, with a strong media presence targeting both domestic and international audiences.
