The 11th Bangladesh Denim Expo kick-started at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka on Tuesday, showcasing the latest denim fabrics, denim-made garment items and other accessories and machineries.
A total of 100 exhibitors from 11 countries, including host Bangladesh, are reportedly taking part in the exhibition.
Apart from the host country, other nations taking part in the expo are China, Japan, Italy, India, Singapore, Brazil, Spain, Pakistan, Turkey and Germany.
For the first time, H&M Group, a Swedish multinational clothing retailer, is collaborating with Bangladesh Denim Expo for its 11th edition.
With its theme ‘Responsibility’, the 11th edition of the event aims to address the level of social, environmental and economic responsibility the apparel industry holds to ensure products are produced in the most ethical, environment-friendly and sustainable manner.
The two-day expo also aims to shed light on the ongoing trends and advancements in sustainable denim production techniques around the globe.
Besides denim fabrics and denim-related finished products, accessories like buttons, zippers and dyeing chemicals are also being showcased in the expo.
This year, Bangladesh Denim Expo (BDE) is organising 4 seminars in which leading industry experts are scheduled to highlight the development aspects in textile machinery, chemicals and sustainable technology.
