Besides being competitors in the field of readymade garment, it isn’t stopping Vietnam from expanding trade with Bangladesh so much so that the country has even called upon Bangladeshi entrepreneurs to invest in Vietnam’s RMG and textile sectors.
This was underlined during a meeting between a Vietnam delegation with the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) officials in Dhaka recently.
Attending the meeting chaired by Senior Vice-President of FBCCI Sheikh Fazle Fahim, Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam Nguyen Phuc Nam reportedly invited Bangladesh businessmen to invest in the RMG and textile sectors in Vietnam while highlighting the incentives provided by the Vietnam Government for the foreign investors and urged Bangladesh entrepreneurs to participate in the ‘Vietnam-Bangladesh Trade Fair’ to be held in March 2019, in Chittagong.
Ambassador of Vietnam to Bangladesh Tran Van Khoa also spoke on the occasion. FBCCI Directors Prabir Kumar Saha, Azizul Hoque, Hafez Harun-Or-Roshid and Md Moniruzzaman also took part in the discussion. Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh and the representatives from different business sectors reportedly attended the meeting.
