The recent 6.5 million personal protective equipment (PPE) gown export by Beximco to USA has not only catapulted Bangladesh to the league of select group of nations with ability to manufacture large-scale, world-class PPE, it is now earning the country praise from the world leaders as well.
Recently, Mike Pompeo, the US Secretary of State, congratulated Bangladesh for achieving this rare milestone, claimed media reports.
“I join @USAmbBangladesh in congratulating Bangladesh for this significant milestone…,” reportedly maintained the US Secretary of State while retweeting to Earl Miller’s tweet on recent PPE exports to USA.
Mike further added that such global partnerships are vital as entities focus on making and supplying PPE for frontline workers across the globe.
Earl Miller is the US Ambassador to Bangladesh, who along with Md Shahriar Alam (State Minister for Foreign Affairs) amongst many others attended Beximco’s dispatch of first consignment of PPE gowns to USA.
Beximco’s first shipment of PPE gowns made it to the USA from Dhaka’s Shahjalal International Airport.
