Even as the Russia-Ukraine conflict continues still, Bangladeshi diplomats in Moscow have asked the businesses in Dhaka against doing business with Russian entities as they felt the war-linked situation would take time to get normal even if they asked the traders to be innovative and tactful in exploring the existing and latent opportunities.
Media reports maintained this adding the same was maintained by the embassy of Bangladesh in Russian Federation to the Commerce Ministry in Dhaka.
Reports further added the letter while updating on the possible impacts of the ongoing war and sanctions on bilateral trade while also suggesting way forward, maintained, “…the conflict in Ukraine is yet to unfold to a full shape and the changing situations make it very difficult to predict a scenario sustainable enough to make prudent decisions.”
It may be mentioned here Bangladesh’s export to the Russian Federation in the fiscal year 2020-2021 was US $ 665.31 million even if total import from Russia was around US $ 482 million in the FY 2020-2021.
