Direct shipping service (container) connecting Bangladesh’s Chittagong Port to the Port of Koper in Slovenia may open up prospects for faster and cheaper shipping from Bangladesh to Europe.

This was, reportedly, underlined at a recent meeting between Honorary Consul, Consulate of Bangladesh in Slovenia, Miha Groznik; BGMEA President Faruque Hassan and Honorary Consul, Consulate of Slovenia in Bangladesh, Wahid Salam.

Commercial Director, Port of Koper Mitja Dujc and Representative for Hungary, Port of Koper, Borut Semrl, also attended the meeting where a presentation was, reportedly, made on features, prospects and benefits of Port of Koper for directing shipping from Bangladesh to Europe through Slovenia while also highlighting the possible benefits of shipping to the Port of Koper through transshipment via other ports.
