The clearing and forwarding (C&F) agents at Bangladesh’s main seaport, Chittagong Port, have reported to work after a seven-hour strike following issuance of a notice by the country’s National Board of Revenue (NBR) bearing a positive message for their licence renewal as they have been demanding licence renewal by the customs authorities.
Media reports maintained this adding the notice was signed by NBR Second Secretary Abdullah Al Mamun, which instructed the customs commissioners to renew the pending licences on the condition of furnishing necessary documents.
Following the NBR move, the C&F agents immediately called off their strike.
