The President of Bangladesh’s apex garment makers’ body, the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), has maintained the Government initiatives of upgrading airports along with increasing capacity and efficiency of cargo handling will be instrumental in underpinning economic growth in Bangladesh.
Faruque Hassan, reportedly, made this observation during a meeting with Chairman of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Air Vice Marshal M. Mafidur Rahman in capital Dhaka recently.
Underlining Bangladesh’s economy was growing steadily even if the volume of export and import is also on the rise, the BGMEA President, reportedly, said that to match with the increased trade, it’s of utmost importance to enhance the capacity of airports, especially in Dhaka.
Present at the meeting were BGMEA Vice-Presidents Miran Ali, Shahidullah Azim, former Director Ashikur Rahman (Tuhin) and BGMEA Director Asif Ashraf, amongst others.
