
Tipu Munshi, the Commerce Minister of Bangladesh has recently called on the global buyers to ensure just price of the Bangladeshi apparel items and also to motivate the concerned stakeholders to make the sector sustainable.
The Commerce Minister reportedly made this call when a delegation of UK-based global apparel brand Primark, led by its chief executive officer Paul Marchant, called on him in Dhaka.
Addressing the delegation, Tipu Munshi reportedly said there is need to ensure just price of apparel items so s to motivate the concerned working force and also make this sector sustainable even as he maintained that Primark, which is one of the largest buyers ‘Made in Bangladesh’ apparels items from the country.
Salman F Rahman, who is the Prime Minister’s private industry and investment adviser, was also reportedly present at the meeting between the Commerce Minister and the Primark delegation.
