Bangladesh’s central bank, the Bangladesh Bank (BB), has recently blocked the user identification of as many as 25 exporters as they have failed to post relevant documents (EXPs and related documents), or duplicates, against shipments on the central bank’s online export monitoring system.
Media reports maintained this and citing sources added the exporters in question, had failed to post the EXPs and related documents, or duplicates, against shipments on BB’s online export monitoring system from January 2016 to December 2021, which led the central bank to temporarily block the IDs of the concerned exporters.
The BB, via a letter issued on 9 May, further warned the authorised dealer (AD) banks it would cancel their AD licences in case they fail to fully comply with the requirements of duplicate reporting.
