On the sixth anniversary of Rana Plaza tragedy, Goethe-Institut Bangladesh will be organising a special screening of Kamar Ahmad Simon’s film ‘Testimony of a Thread’ on 25 April at 6 PM.
The screening of the film will be followed by a question & answer session with the director; the session will be moderated by award-winning writer Sumon Rahman.
The 50-minute long film explores the connecting world of hope and pain surrounding Bangladesh’s garment industry, which has been recovering well after the 2013 Rana Plaza tragedy – amidst all challenges and struggles.
Kamar said “There are few monologues in the film, which deprived me of my sleep for several days. I have collaged those into a video format, which has been liked by many. In fact, those who have seen it want to see it again. This special screening is for them and for all those who have not seen the movie so far.”
The film gets screened in the month of April every year since its completion, and is screened free of cost.
