
The fire that, reportedly, broke out a garment manufacturing unit in Postogola area of Dhaka on Saturday (15 January) has been brought under control and doused by early 16 January (Sunday).
According to media reports, which cited Deputy Assistant Director (Media Cell) of Fire Services and Civil Defence Headquarters Shahjahan Sikder, the fire broke out at around 11:45 pm on Saturday night at the third floor of Alam Garments, which is housed in a seven-storey building.
The fire was brought under control and doused completely by 5:15 am Sunday, reportedly, claimed Shahjahan Sikder, who added eight firefighting units were pressed into service to douse the fire.
Meanwhile, talking to the media, Nazma Begum, who is Duty Officer at the Fire Services and Civil Defence Headquarters, reportedly, said a short circuit has caused the fire.
