Bangladesh’s apex garment makers’ body BGMEA recently donated face masks and emergency medical equipment to the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) for its COVID-19 hospital.
Urging everyone to follow health safety measures and refrain from unnecessary and non-urgent outings as much as possible to control the spread of coronavirus, BGMEA President Faruque Hassan said the garment makers’ body has stepped in to extend its support to the people in need out of social responsibility.
Faruque handed over to the Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation Md. Atiqul Islam, 50,000 face masks and 15 German-made high flow nasal cannulas with BiPAP in a programme held in this direction, which was also attended by Director of DNCC COVID-19 Hospital Brigadier General AKM Nasiruddin, BGMEA Vice-President Md. Shahidullah Azim, Vice-President (Finance) Khandoker Rafiqul Islam and Directors Rajiv Chowdhury and Md. Mohiuddin Rubel.
The Mayor of DNCC has thanked the garment makers’ body for the donation.
