Demanding unpaid wages, employees of Bangladesh’s Regent Textiles Mills Limited, which is a concern of the Habib Group, held protests in front of the company’s head office in the port city of Chittagong.
Media reports maintained this while adding around 50 employees of the entity staged a sit-in protest at the Love Lane area in Chittagong’s Jubilee Road on Sunday (31 July) morning even as the protesting employees alleged, despite discussing the issue of clearing the ten months’ salaries in arrears with several spokespersons of Habib Group, no one could offer an acceptable solution as yet.
Meanwhile, speaking to the media, Habib Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Anjan Kumar Bhattacharya, reportedly, underlined the organisation was working to resolve the issue.
